Busy Week....

Said goodbye to our friends Lizzy and Stewart for a few days. Haley, Teddy and Buddy are all doing great:) Rusty arrives today for private boarding and we are excited about having him as a house guest. Jack comes for dayboarding on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week and Teddy will be spending next weekend with us. Tarkon will be our last client before our vacation.

Reminder: We will be gone until June 24th. We do still have some private boarding space in July and August but it is filling up rather quickly so if you need a spot, let us know asap.

A Weekend with Cookie and Pumba

Our weekend guests this week are the tiny Chihuahua mix, Ms. Cookie, and the incredibly adorable Shephard mix, Pumba. They are best buds and are staying with us while their human family is away. Just look how cute they are......

Well, the weekend with Teddy was fun(pic attached). As I have already contacted many of you, if you need your keys before I go on vacation let me know. Revised vacation dates are May 28-June 24. My husband will be available for some visits June 14 until I get home, but if you are in need of boarding or other sitting during the 28-13 then I can help you find someone. I am looking forward to vacation, but I'm also looking forward to getting back.

Well it has been quite a while since my last blog. I have been updating clients via email/phone, but am anxious to get back into the blog world. This week Tarcon, Lizzy, Steward and Teddy are all getting great care and they are so fun to work with.

Announcement: For all clients, we are finally taking a vacation(it has been too long), so I wanted to go ahead and let everyone know that from May 20-June 13 we will not be taking jobs. Sorry if this is an inconvenience but call me and I will set up other arrangements for you. I don't want to lose any of you as my clients, but we are well overdue for a vacation and I will be back in no time.

All is going well just haven't had much time to post on the blog. We are resuming in-house boarding but on a very limited basis so please book early. $40 per night per dog/$25 per night per cat.

Our New Pup

This is our new little girl, Boomba. She is a beautiful PWD from Abwaj kennels in Jimboomba, Australia. We are excited to have her and she is excited to be here. She is currently in puppy classes and loves socializing with all the other pups.

For all of our clients, thank you so much for keeping us so busy the last few months. We were super busy over the holidays and through the month of January. It has slowed down now and I am enjoying some rest, but also ready to meet new clients and continue this great job.

Please don't hesitate to contact us for booking during the upcoming summer months. Book early. Thanks!

Buddy and Teddy are too cute:) They are so funny. They love to sniff everything on their walks and get along so well. They are eating well and doing great! Pics taken and will be posted soon.

Haley is her usual charming self. Such a sweetie and enjoying her treats in the fridge.

Lizzy and Stewart are very happy. Stewart has really warmed up to me now. They are ready to eat as soon as I walk in the door. :)

Exciting News for Us!

Sofi, the PWD female we co-own who is currently showing in conformation on the mainland, won her 1st championship point at her very first show today. We are so proud of her and thankful for her wonderful handler. In other exciting news, the newest and final(at least for awhile) member of our little family is arriving this Friday. Her name is Boomba and she is a beautiful black PWD coming from a reputable kennel in Australia. Lots of good things happening this week. We will not be doing in-home boarding at this time. Adding a new puppy to the family will be activity enough around our home; however, we will continue to do pet sitting in your home. At this time, we do not have plans to resume in-home boarding but we will certainly keep everyone posted.

In sitting news, we have beautiful Haley to care for the next couple of weeks. She is the best pooch and loads of fun:) We also have Lizzy and Stewart our kitty friends in Ko'Olina. New client this week as well with 2 pups. Pretty busy even after the holiday:)

Tomorrow is my last day with my friends Mannie, Striker and the turtles. I have been caring for them for 3 weeks now, so it will be weird not seeing them every day.

I am determined to get a camera soon because these posts just are not as fun without pictures.

Sassy and Daisy-----Parents, You Can't Have Them Back(Ha, Ha)

First of all, let me talk about my sweet little friend Sassy. Oh my, she is the sweetest, best behaved dog I have ever met in my life-no joke. She follows me everywhere. Stays when I say stay. She never needs to be crated, never messes up in the house, never chews anything she isn't suppose to and her adjustment to our home has been seamless. She fit in from day one and my children adore her. Having her around is wonderful. Daisy is equally as sweet and loving-just in a much larger more slobbery package:) She is a sweetheart and so gentle despite her size. She is so obedient. You can talk to her like you would a human and she understands what you are telling her to do. These two are a pleasure to have around. I wish I could post pics-I have got to go get a new camera whenever I get 5 seconds to go shopping.

Emmy went home today:( We have had her for almost a month and she has been wagging her tail the whole time and growing like a weed. She is turning out to be an absolutely girl and we know her family is happy to be back with her. Thank you for letting her entertain us for so long:)

Makai is doing great. Eating well, enjoying playtime and is a happy-go-lucky guy. He misses his mommy though:)

Emmy has more energy than an energizer bunny and she is extremely strong. She is a sweet girl with beautiful color and eyes.

Sassy is the best dog. She is so easy and is wonderful with our kids. She fit right in like she has lived here for years. She and Kala are perfect together.

Daisy is a huge sweetheart. Underneath that huge mastiff body is a gentle old soul. Such a beautiful dog.

Striker, Mannie and Turtles are all doing well. Mannie can't wait for our walks together and let's me know as soon as I walk in the door Striker is eating well and really enjoyed his bird seed yesterday. The turtles are fine as well.

Coming up: Stan for Jan/Feb pet stops. Vickie for pet stops this week. Jonnee' for weekly clean up on the 22nd.

In other news, our girl Sofi(who lives on the mainland) will be in her first 2 shows this coming weekend. We are hoping she does well but she is still a pup and the showing is more for her to experience it so that she will be open to it when she is full grown.

Our new girl, Boomba, will be arriving in the next week and we are SO excited. David has already started puppy classes without her(ha,ha). Kala and I have two conformation schools to go to for the next few months. Busy time but fun:)

Shannon-your kitties were fine yesterday evening and I will be going back between the designated hours this evening. I will put out the trash on Tuesday. Feel free to call if you wish:)

Paul-Mannie, Striker and I had fun yesterday. This morning they were excited to see me. I turned on the turtle lights, took Mannie for a walk, fed Striker(he ate his wafer too) and cleaned up.

Rene-I actually got a picture of Tarkhon yesterday. I couldn't believe it! He was downstairs eating when I was upstairs changing the litter box. Wow, he is beautiful. I will post pic on my site soon.

Charlie and family-Milo is doing fine. He is the cleanest cat I have ever cared for:)

Lani-this is one of my favorite stops. I love, love animals(obviously) and miss my farm on the mainland. Being able to care for all of your animals is almost like caring for a farm. The baby birds are out of their nest all of the time now. I think you may have to up the seeds when you get home-lol. Chief is great as are the other dogs. Drac will get his litter maintained today and so will the bunnies.

Katrina-Millie is excited to see me now. I didn't think it would ever happen for a while. Now she loves me and no longer barks. She is happy to go for walks with Pepper and me.

Jennifer-Hilo and Orbit are great. Low key but Hilo is still so loving. I gave Orbit a little attention today until he decided that was enough:)

Chavis-Emmy has a new friend now. Her friend Maddie went home yesterday but Makai is back and they enjoy each other.

Lindsey-Makai picked up where he did after the last visit. He fits in well and is eating well. No sick tummy.

Winston-he is the cutest thing. He hangs out with us and gets along well with everyone(2 and 4 legged)

Sophie-she is a great cat. Love, love, love her. She greets me when I come into the room and is really enjoying her toy.

Ryan-Cleo and Ninja are super friendly and all has gone well on our visits. I am checking your mail!

Kalaeloa Home-morning visit went well. Millie is really warming up to me. Maintenance came at 9 and fixed the air.

Lani Home-everybody is happy:) Chief did not paw at me one time. Rabbits fed, birds fed(the babies were out-3 of them and they are adorable), cats fed and fish fed. a few pics attached.

Milo-happy as always. Ate all his food again. Good boy.

Hilo/Orbit-such good boys. they had eaten about half of their food but seemed happy.

Paul House-striker whistled at me. Mannie loves me and the turtles were their usual jolly selves(ha ha).

Emmie is energetic and happy. Eating all her food morning and evening.

Maddie is happy also. We switched her back to Alpo for you:)

Winston wants to be with us wherever we are. He follows at my heel. Adorable puppy face eventhough he isn't a puppy.

Millie, Milo, Mannie and More

Hello all.

My pet stops for yesterday went well.

Milo was great and loved every minute I was there. He is such a sweetheart and had eaten all of his food. He helped me clean his litterbox and walked me to the door as I left:)

Millie,Pepper, kitty and fish....visited them again this morning and they are all doing well.

Hilo/Orbit-wow, Hilo has grown so much since last time. They were doing well and had played with all of there cat toys(they were everywhere-lol).

Striker(parrot) was very good about getting on my arm to go in his cage for the night. Mannie wasd a bit nervous since this was our first visit, but I have some tricks up my sleeve for todays visits. The turtles were great and I did remember to turn off the lights and will turn them on at the noon visit today.

Boarders: Sophie can't leave-I want her to stay with me. Ha ha. I wish. She is perfect at relaxing me. At the end or middle of a busy day-I go into her room and she purrs so soothingly and rubs up against me legs. There is something very therapeutic about cats.

Emmy and Maddie love David and he spent the most time feeding and hanging with them today. They play endlessly and both of them have very good appetites.

Quick Update

Everyone is doing well. Yesterday, Milo met me at the door and was happy for some company. Emmy, Maddie and Sophie are doing great. Sophie is rubbing against my laptop making it incredibly hard to type this right now:) We got her a new toy and some catnip today so she is happy. Emmy has calmed down a lot since first arriving and fits in nicely. Maddie is her typical happy go lucky self and the submissive urination has almost completely stopped.

Tomorrow I will be visiting with the (husky, shephard, cat) in Kalaeloa, Hilo/Orbit, Milo and some new friends we will meet tomorrow. So expect more updates tomorrow evening if time allows. Winston will be arriving on Tuesday as well. Super busy for the next 3 weeks. I'm so glad there are 2 of us to take care of all of these wonderful pets. Cheers for this evening! sorry new pics will have to wait until tomorrow.......

These pics were taken in our garage which now belongs to the dogs:) Maddie is in her little fenced area where the pups take turns staying in if I have to run errands and they don't have to go in their crate. Emmie is trying to get Jean Claude to join in on all the fun that she is having; he says he is much to much of a gentleman for such childish games. Emmie and Maddie get along well and wear each other out. Arabella was inside with Kala so her pics will have to wait til later. They are all being good pups and getting along really well.

Lizzy and Stewart, 2 beautiful kitties, are doing well. Lizzy has the biggest, most beautiful eyes a super long coat and is such a loving cat. Stewart is a charcoal grey beauty and much more aloof. He's mysterious that way. Our sweet boarder Makai left today and we look forward to his next stay. It is pretty quiet this week other than pet sitting visits and meeting new clients. Our holiday rush starts this Saturday so we are taking it easy for a few days. Hope all are enjoying your holidays!!

Jesus is the Reason for the Season

I love Christmas! Celebrating the birth of my Lord and Savior is the best part of the year. I often get so caught up in work and things of this world that I forget the real reason to celebrate. We are finished Christmas shopping for our kiddos. It was lots of fun and I enjoyed letting my almost 4 year old strum through toy catalogs. I stopped today and thought about the fact that we hadn't really stressed the reason for Christmas to our children. It has been mostly about what gifts they would get or the Christmas tree, etc. Those are great things but telling the story of the manger is so much more important. Please remember the reason for this holiday:)

Update: Scrappy, our newest houseguest, is an absolute doll. He is so incredibly easy going and just precious. He lays on the dog bed in the living room and gets up to eat, potty and greet anyone entering the room. He is such a sweetie.

Makai goes home soon:( He's becoming like family now, but I know his mommy can't wait to see him. He and Kala are great friends now and he and the kitty still get along well too. He said he wants a kitty for Christmas mom!!

Wow this is the busiest time of year for a pet sitter. I enjoy it but stay so busy I don't get much time to sit and blog. Haley, Makai, Jean Claude and Arabella are all doing great. Pet Sitting---Haley enjoys are visits every day and is eating well and enjoying her strolls around the neighborhood.
Boarding--------Makai is doing great. Other than counter surfing every now and then-lol- he is a very good boy:) Arabella and Jean Claude are doing great and putting up with the 2 pups in the house rather well. I will hopefully get some good pics today and post them tomorrow. They all follow me from room to room-I turn around, they turn around/I go upstairs, they go upstairs, I sit down, they gather round. Silly pups:)

Update for clients:

Haley-doing marvelous. Smart as a whip. Enjoyed her walk this morning and really enjoyed our tug of war game. Sent email w/pics.

Makai-he is still fitting in great with us. He went for a long walk yesterday to the park; he seemed to really enjoy that. He is a good boy.

Gracie, Scrubs, Jack-sweet as ever. They didn't leave a mess for me this morning. I didn't know what to do with myself. They are truly the cutest little guys:) Love them.

In other news, our Portuguese Water Dog, Sofi, who is on the mainland waiting to start her show career was just picked up by Talbot Kennels in Chattanooga, Tennessee. YAY!!! She will be trained and shown starting in January. Amy from Talbot said she is doing wonderfully and her conformation is impressive. We hope to be earning points on Sofi soon:)

Also, Kala had a 6 month birthday party this weekend with 4 of her 7 littermates and her mommy. It was a fun time and a little hectic with 6 Standard Poodles running around. We had fun:)

Busy Week Ahead

First off, a big shout out to Flash Flooring for a job well done on installing the new flooring in our home. We said goodbye to all of our carpet this week(hallelujah) and now everything feels so much cleaner and is so much easier to clean. The guys at Flash did an excellent job and I would recommend them if you need any flooring or other home renovations. We are thoroughly enjoying our time with Makai(a boarding pup). He follows me everywhere around the house and rarely gets more than 3 feet from me. He seems content and settles on the big doggy pillow next to our bed when he needs a rest.

I am looking forward to my time with Haley in her home this coming week while her owners are away. I am also excited about first time boarders coming this weekend:) (another standard Poodle and a Bichon Frise). They have already visited our home and seemed right at home. The Doxie Trio will get a few more visits from me for Thanksgiving also. A busy week ahead but I feel so blessed to work with such great clients and their adorable pets.

In other news, our dog Kala is growing her coat for the upcoming show season. She graduated from her Puppy Kindergarten a few weeks ago and I am anxious to start our Conformation Classes after the first of the year.

Thanksgiving Week

Aloha. It has been a few days since I last posted. We have had a busy weekend. Thanksgiving is fast approaching and it is one of my favorite times of the year(2nd to Christmas of course). I have so much to be thankful for! The Lord has truly blessed me and my family in so many ways.

Makai Update:
We have Makai visiting with us for the next couple of weeks. He is an adorable Terrier mix who has a great personality. His mommy dropped him off this morning. He whined for about an hour-missing her I know. But we snapped him out of it for the time being. He has been chasing our kitty and our kitty chases him back. They are great friends already. He has already found a comfy spot under our bed. Don't worry Makai's mommy, he is adjusting well. He still misses you but he said he is okay till you get back:) I will have pics of him soon.

Well, it is getting busy around here. Boarding at my home is filling up quickly. There is still a little space for some dates during the holidays but not much. I still have pet sitting stops available.

I have enjoyed meeting many new clients this past week and look forward to taking care of all your pets!!

I love my little Doxie trio:) Hopefully, pics of them will be up soon. They are the cutest little pups in the world and SOOO loving. Thank you to the Doxie Trio's mommy for letting me drop in for pet sit visits!

Above is a pic of our buddy Enzo. He stayed with us this past weekend for the second time an we really like having him around. He is a tough guy with a big heart.

Day at the Bay

We love going to the water as a family and especially with our dogs. It was Kala's turn to play in the water with us yesterday. She had lots of fun. We are adding a new service for our clients. It is an "add-on" service for sitting and boarding clients. This will be a great opportunity to get your dog out of the house for a beach, park or other outing. I should have it on the rates and services page in the next day or so. That's all for now!!!

Sasha is so much fun! As I write this she is running up and down the stairs. She and Kala are getting along famously despite the size difference. She loves her walks and gets excited when I pull out the leash. Don't tell her doggie friends back home but she loves little kitty HiHi too:) Thank you Sasha's parents for letting us care for her while you are away. We call her foxy sometimes because with her size, color and length of her fur and ear set she looks like a little fox scurrying from one place to another.
